Unternehmenspräsentation

Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC) began as fashion industry's response to breast cancer - a widely recognized effort that raises public awareness and funds to support breast cancer research, education, screening and patient care.
The Fashion Targets Breast Cancer name and symbol were inspired by Ralph Lauren. Since its launch in 1994, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer has raised over $40 million worldwide for distribution to breast cancer charities.
The FTBC initiative marshals the goodwill and services of every element of the fashion industry: fashion designers; leading retailers; the world’s most famous models and celebrities.
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer has become the worldwide fashion community’s singular and most successful response to breast cancer – an issue of vital importance to its primary consumers: women.
FTBC campaign has been established in the following 10 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland, Greece, Japan, Portugal, Turkey and United Kingdom.
FTBC Hellas joined the global trend in June 2001. Today, we are proud to announce that the campaign has superseded our ambitious fundraising endeavor, as it has inaugurated a Breast Cancer Health Centre dedicated to the battle against one of the most common female diseases.
What we perceive as our biggest success is that the campaign, through the immense media coverage and publicity it has enjoyed over the years, helped health institutions throughout Greece to actively contribute to the breast cancer movement, each through their own resources. Furthermore, the FTBC campaign made a significant difference in media behavior surrounding breast cancer, enhancing awareness and open-mindness so that people are no longer afraid to be open about it!
Overview of FTBC projects
Breast Cancer Health Centre
Breast Cancer Health Centre, called the “House of Target” was established in 2004. It is governed by the mandate to provide free breast screening for women between the ages of 45 – 65, as well as through assessments based on preventive tests.
In 2007 alone, the Centre conducted 7.897 mammograms. 90% of these women had never undergone a preventive check up before.
Spreading the message of prevention
Dissemination of leaflets, containing information about self-examination, risk-factors, tips for nutrition and breast awareness. Also included, are doctors’ advice on prevention as well as testimonies of women that faced breast cancer, so that we make them feel familiar with this decease.  The material is handed out from FTBC booths.
Breast Examination Booths
For the first time in Greece, we introduced a free “breast examination” program with specially equipped breast examination booths, set up at key locations throughout Greece. The examinations were conducted with the help of volunteer oncologist doctors.
The booths were promoted through local outdoor posters, Flyers, advertisements in local TV, radio, magazines & newspapers.
National campaign for increasing awareness
The largest breast cancer campaign in Greece was organized to encourage women to take an annual mammogram test. The campaign took place in all means of public transportation, including subway, tram and buses and lasted 2 months.
At the same time, we operated a Breast Cancer Hotline, receiving calls form women, giving information on breast cancer prevention.
